Currently all editions uses Tuigreet - simple console-based login greeter, but for more consistent look'n'feel and for a smoother transition from the login screen to the desktop we need to provide some graphical login greeter. The choice in favor of nwg-hello is due to several factors: it is very simple, lightweight, actively maintained and written specifically for Sway and other similar compositors.
